Local band enjoying success

Canterbury based band strike a chord at '100 Club'

When local band Zephyrus went on a break last year, the long-term future of the band was never in any doubt. With a temporary bassist replacement swiftly found following a personnel change, a new direction was taken with a new polished name: ‘House of Rogues’.

Although the end of 2010 proved to be a real drought in terms of finding venues to play at, there has been little shortage in 2011.

Their latest gig was at the world-renowned ‘100 Club’ in Oxford Street, London. With acts such as the Sex Pistols, Oasis, The White Stripes and even The Clash playing there, this was definitely a good direction to take.
The band are no strangers to playing high profile shows however, as back in the summer of 2010 they beat over 200 bands in playing the “You say they play” stage at Lounge on the Farm.
Although fairly new on the music scene in Kent, having originally forming at the very end of 2009, they’ve taken no prisoners in making a name for themselves amongst the bands currently in Canterbury.
Ben Clements lead guitarist of HoR’s said: “100 Club was definitely one of the best gigs I have ever played it. It was exhilarating knowing that some of the best bands in the world stood exactly where we were playing.”
Recently the band played at a well known unsigned band competition in Croydon named 'Testing 123', which helps unsigned bands to hopefully be discovered. Although the band advanced to the final six, they narrowly missed out on a place in the final.
