Canterbury’s only bowling alley and ice rink has been shut down after 16 months of business.
Bugsy’s Ice ‘n’ Bowl in St George’s Place closed earlier in the month after a bailiffs notice was posted on their door.
The centre was known for it's synthetic ice rink and bowling lanes as well as it's discounted prices and offers to skate and bowl, which were popular with young children in the area.
The centre's sudden closure saw its staff lose their job's after originally being told that it was closed due to a burglary.
A sign has now appeared on the door and on their website which says: “Due to a dispute with the landlord it is with much regret that Bugsy’s Ice ‘n’ Bowl will no longer be trading.
“We apologise for any inconvenience this will cause our customers. Thank you for your support and custom over the last 16 months.”
The company also runs a second bowling centre in Margate which has been unaffected by the closure of the Canterbury centre.
One of Bugsy’s directors, Hannah Plewis, was clearly upset at the closure of the centre said: "Obviously we are absolutely gutted, and it is not something that we wanted at all. Its all very difficult during these hard times."

The leisure industry in Canterbury seems to have taken a hit with the recent closure of Planet Laser in one of the units opposite Bugsy’s. This leaves little for under 18’s in the area to do aside from the two screen cinema.
But students in the area don't seem to be too sad to see the bowling lanes closed for business.
